Klean Industries is a Canadian company commited to the development of green energy and environmentally friendly recycling. Klean Industries support me financially and in return I report to them with vital information about climatic and glacial changes on the mountains I climb. Klean Industries is commited to a greener, healthier, happier planet.

In the world's harshest environment, it can be the difference between life and death with the equipment I use and wear. North Face supply me with my tents, sleeping bags and outerwear that ensure that after ever expedition, I come back alive, healthy and with all my fingers and toes. I use North Face because it is the best out there... hands down.

The best climbing hardware on the market today is made by Black Diamond. Black Diamond supplies me with all my technical gear, ranging from climbing harnesses, ice axes, crampons, carabiners and headlamps. I use Black Diamond gear because it is the best.

In the cyberage of digital and webcams comes probably one of the greatest products I have ever seen. it is a privilege to be one of the team athletes. gopro have designed a tiny video/still camera that stores images on a SD card and runs on a couple of AAA batteries. small enough to store in my pocket the camera can be word on the head/helmet/wrist or attached to yuor car/bike. The end results are simply incredible. with built in microphone i look forward to getting some fantastic footage in the upcoming expeditions.

To be successful on the highest mountains in the world you need the best equipment possible. There are so many things that i have no control of.The weather, snow, conditions. All these things are out of my hands. So the best i can do is make sure that the i put the things i do have control of as much in my favour as possible.

The smallest things can be the difference between summitting or not. and sometimes the difference between coming back alive or not too. That's why i exclusively use the JETBOIL personal cooking system. It is without a doubt the best high altitude cooking system in the world.Lightweight and incredibly easy to use this stove melts snow in a matter of minutes with an energy efficiency 3 times better than any other stoves.JETBOIL stoves are often the difference between summitting or not. More information can be found about JETBOIL at www.jetboil.com and www.seatosummit.com.au

The team at Heat Factory have to be the nicest people around. On the mountain, for those freezing early morning starts and midnight summit pushes, I use Heat Factory chemical hand warmers in my mittons and socks to keep fingers and toes toasty warm. Heat Factory hand warmers work great at altitude and stay hotter longer than any other product I have used on the mountains.

At altitude, on a long hard expedition, good nutrition can be the difference between summited or not. Endura is one of the most respected sports drink and nutrition supplement companies in the world used by olympians, world class triatheletes and now high altitude mountaineers. On the mountain, I only drink and use Endura products. I have found them to be the best product available for where I am going and what I do.

One of the hardest parts about what I do and where I go is keeping my hands and head warm. Outdoor research supply myself and some of the world's best high altitude mountaineers with the best hand wear and head wear that money could buy. I summited Everest using Outdoor Research gloves, it was no accident or any stroke of luck that I still have all my fingers and toes.

Over the years, as telecommunications and satelitte phones have improved, it has allowed climbers such as myself to stay intouch with the rest of the world. It seems like only yesterday was it normal for me to go away on expedition and to have no contact with the outside world for 2 months. Now with X-Sat's satelitte phone, simcards and phone credit, I am able to have vitally important phone communications with the outside world. I am also able to use my PDA/keyboard linked to my Thuraya satelitte phone as a modem to send and receive emails whilst I am on expedition. I am now able to receive news from home and all important weather forcasts to plan my movements and summit push up the mountain. It helps me to stay calm and focused on the mountain knowing that I have finger on the pulse with what's going on back home and also what kind of weather mother nature has in store for me. Accurate weather forcasts can be the difference between summiting or not.

Attempting these 8000metre mounatins without oxygen is one of the hardest things anyone can do. During freezing cold early morning starts and gail force jetstream winds, I use P-SolarX heat exchanger balaclavas. Their patterned heat exchanging breathing aparatus which is built into the mask warms up the freezing cold air as I breathe in. Breathing warm air into my chest and lungs helps me keep my body core temperature warm and under control. Warm body core temperature means warm feet and toes, this helps me to climb worry free and not to be burning precious energy with concerns of the onset of frostbite. It's amazing that one simple piece of equipment can make such a huge difference on the mountain and can quite literally be the difference between summiting or not.

Hot Tronics supply me with battery operated foot warmer insoles. I used these on Everest and they were the difference between freezing cold toes and toasty warm comfortable toes. Don't just take my word for it, these foot warmers are used by some of the best climbers and guides in the world.
